I have here a 2003 Volvo S80 with flickering dashboard lights. The problem is intermittent.
The youtube link below is how the car behaves...when in motion or at rest (with engine running):
The only lights in the video that are self generated are the turn signals.
What could possibly be the problem and are there any instructions that I can employ to solve it myself?
While I have my own amateur guesses as to what might be the problem, I'd rather you the pro's confirm or refute my assumption (bad alternator).
The car starts everytime...except that the ignition is a little harder to turn.
Thanks

These cars are very sensitive to their electrical supply so yes, I would start with Alternator/Regulator and battery checks.

Good troubleshooting, thanks for posting back. I have a similar issue with the airbag/SRS light. Flickers often, but no codes or errors related to SRS in the message center. Worse when the weather is cold, once the cabin warms up after 30-40mins in winter, light stays off.
