SECOR Volvo, New London CT

Post by Howie35CT »

Hello, I am new to Volvo and to this site, thanks for having me aboard. I recently purchased a 2001 S60 (116K) and was immediately concerned about the transmission and wanted to do a "drain + fill" as soon as possible. Took the car to a local mechanic who swore that he knew what he was doing, and they then proceeded to remove the dreaded threaded 3rd gear band bolt, which as you may have figured by now, rendered my car useless. I took it (in limp mode) over to SECOR Volvo who (1) confirmed that the bolt was removed (2) had their master mechanic conduct a successful retrieval (3) called the local mechanic on my behalf and had them pay for the labor and (4) washed and vacuumed my car for free. I had an excellent experience with SECOR and wanted to especially relay a pat on the back to Kelly, the master mechanic who saved me upwards of $4k for a new transmission.

Good to hear about a good dealer! I'm in RI and in all honesty, a good dealer would be worth the 40 mile drive.
