stereo sc811 wont power up. security light flashing.

Hi, first time poster.

have found some posts regarding this problem but none which contain a solution.

Our cd stacker had never worked. Today I pulled the stereo out and found that the cd stacker was not even plugged in. Plugged it in, put everything back in place and now I get nothing.

The screen doesn't light up and I'm not prompted for a code at all. The only sign of life is the security light flashing. The fuses are fine. Have tried holding down the #6 button.

Anybody got a solution for this?

Maybe you can unplug the CD changer and it will work again.

Something must have shorted it out. Maybe you can find a cheap replacement. Did it have a CD player built in?

Unplug it, set it aside for a day, and let the capacitors all drain. Then try again, holding down the power button as you plug in the connectors to the back of the radio and turn the ignition key. I've heard of these things being super finicky.

tempremental little sucker this radio.

have a few different ideas. some people say to leave it powered for two hours. others say leave it unpowered overnight and try it. I've never known stereos to be so fussy.

I think you have to leave it powered for a couple of hours, and then the code requirement will appear. It sounds exactly like you entered the code more than three times, and it locked you out. I've done it a few times. This is what it looks like when you do such a thing. Good luck.

You only have to do that if the display says OFF.
