Selling a 2002 Volvo V70 wagon, automatic transmission, dark red with tan leather interior. This car has been in my family since 2004 (I've been driving it since July while we're in training in DC) and has been meticulously maintained with all service records in my possession. We're moving out of the country in April and would like to find it a new home, preferably with someone who knows/loves Volvos.
I love this car, but it's starting to show its age. The engine and transmission are both fine, but I just replaced the Evap system hoses and valves and the sway bar on the right front tire. Struts in front and shocks in rear could use replacement, and it's nearing its 105K servicing (the big one - water pump and timing belt). It also has the sunroof/alarm siren issue. All required and incidental maintenance has been done by Volvo dealers or specialists and is current with complete records.
Interior is in great shape, has built-in booster seats in the back and third-row seating. Volvo premium sound system with aftermarket Clarion iPod/CD head unit installed, roof rack, power seats, power windows, power mirrors, seat heaters, moon roof. Exterior has some scratches, as it was used as a daily train commuter and utility car, but no major dents, dings, or other body damage. Never in an accident, completely clean title.
Car gets great gas mileage around DC (~30 highway/~24 city), and uses 87 octane (sweet). Excellent family truckster for schlepping the kids around or bringing the dogs to the dog park. Plenty of room inside for hauling your weekend warrior project materials from Home Depot or Lowe's. Also excellent in the snow (front wheel drive FTW), as I learned on a 6-hour nightmare drive from Cape Cod to CT in a blizzard.
I will post images upon request via a Flikr album.
Asking $5,000 but will entertain reasonable offers. Cash only and face-to-face sale required - no "agents" or other BS tactics.
