01 V70 T5 oil leak

Post by Integrexman »

I have a oil leak from either the oil pump or the sump. I do not see any oil on the timing belt. It is not the oil cooler or the lines going in and out of the turbo. If it is the orings between the block and sump can the sump be droped out the bottom through the sub frame? If it is the oil pump should I replace it or just replace the seals and gasket? The car has 115,000 miles on it. I think it is the oil pump, is this a common problem on this car?

Can you not pinpoint the source any better? IS the oil running down the bottom center of oil pump from the front crank seal?
Is the oil running down one side? The bolts (tx30) that hold in oil pump can leak and the fix for that is copper seals under the bolt heads (copper washers).

I have noticed it getting worries the last couple of oil changes now it is starting to drip on the floor. I can not tell for sure unless I pull more covers off but it seems to be the oil pump. I pulled the top cover off the timing belt and used a mirror and could not see oil by the time gear on the crank. I wonder if it is the oil pump gasket that is between the block and oil pump.
