When turning the key to 2nd position everything is fine, all lights work, no problems eminent. However, (at random) while turning the key to crank, the car will immediately shut off and it seems no power is getting anywhere to the car. Nothing electronic works (lights, etc.). Power is restored after a couple of minutes or if i take off a battery connector and reattach it. Is this a candidate for a grounding problem for the battery cable or something completely different? It feels like there is a cut off from the electricity as if there is too much Volts. I measured the battery while the car is off on a multimeter and it rates the battery at 12.57v.
The 2nd problem that i have is when at idle at low fuel reservoir(10% or less), the idle becomes more rough than normal. The idle is much more smooth after a refill and lets me assume that problem lies with either the in-tank pump or fuel filter. I know the previous owner of the car does not know when he last changed fuel filters.
Thanks for the help.
No start problem & separate rough idle
