Dear friends
just got a 2000 S80 a last month, 56,000mi and got a very heavy smoke out the tail pipe, hot, cold, idle or on the go,
no check engine or any other lights are on,
got 2 suggestions,
bad turbo, or PCV box(oiltrap) clogged, any suggestions
heavy smoke 2000 2.8 T6

I'm assuming it's blue smoke being emitted, since you suggest the turbo or the oil trap. It's easy enough to check for oil seepage from the turbo by removing the discharge piping (dual plastic piece that has the "twin charged strip" centered in it. If there is a large residue of oil in the piping then it could be oil backing up (clogged oil return line) or bearing wear on the impeller side of the turbo. The oil trap would be a bear to get to, but is a viable concern. But at 56k...? And no codes or messages? Good luck.
