2007 XC70 Drivers window will not stay up....

Post by tboothe33 »

The drivers window on my 2007 XC70 just started this. I can put the window down just fine, but when I put it up it goes up and then immediately back down. If I hold the button for it to go up, it will stay up. But if I just try to do auto up it comes right back down.

Does this mean the sensor is going bad? Do I need to replace the buttons on the door?

For now I'm trying to remember not to put it down, I'm afraid it will get stuck down.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Tracy :)

Use the button manually and hold it in full up position for 10 seconds.
Sometimes this resets it
If it doesn't work you either have something hitting it and it's automatically coming down or it needs to be re programmed at Volvo

Look at this thread, it contains the procedure to calibrate.

The calibration procedure that DGM pointed you to does work - at least it did for me. I had to do it on my wife's 05 S80. In my caes though, when performing the last step where you hold the switch for several seconds in the closed position, I did not see the the window jump a little as they describe. It still worked anyway.

On a side note, I found the fuse panel to be mislabeled (or would that actually be "miswired"?) They had the LH and RH window fuses swapped. No biggie.
