2002 Volvo S80 - buy 17" or 18" wheels?

I have a 2002 Volvo s80 2.9 and I need to replace my rims. However it seems that my 17 inch front tires are rubbing so i'm assuming I would be advised against getting 18's with low profile tires. Should I or can I just throw 18's in the rear?
