My 1994 940 ran hot. Now there is a hole in the side of the radiator on the passenger side near the top.
There is a rubber gasket around the hole. Looks like a plug was here. I have not been able to find this at
a auto parts store. Does anyone know what is suppose to be here?

On the 940 it depends on the fuel system installed.
If you have the Regina system there is a thermo contact in that hole. If you have the LH 2.4 system there should be a plug, part number 1274052, obtainable from our sponsors at the top of the forum.
Bill.

Mine did the same thing today! just jumped outta the hole and overheating right in my driveway. luckily I had some extra antifreeze and the tools to fix this thing.
The temp sensor popped out but I found it in the engine bay still attached to the wires. So I just popped it back into the hole and pulled out the trusty Steel Stick and packed it on. the heat from the radiator made the Epoxy set in less than a minute I'd say. SOLID. that sensor ain't going nowhere now!!

and Yes a very BAD design by Volvo. at least it could've been a screw in sensor...sheesh!!!
