mini-vacation with my family, and I'll be getting under the Volvo today to
see if I can find anything out. Going to order the PVC repair kit from FCP

Hmm. I went over the changes, and everything seems to be in place, nothing was incorrect.

Are you SURE in User Control Panel -> Global Preferences you have none of the red selections checked?
