I have Volvo S80, 2001, 134,000 miles. Within the last year, I have had issues with check engine light, and have brought to mechanic, Volvo dealer, then mechanic, who was kind enough to fix all he could do with this throttle issue. The Volvo dealer suggested a repair of total $4000 items. Two months ago, I brought it back to mechanic who was kind enough to fix (whatever he did) which resulted in $1500 price. Within the last few weeks, I had the check engine light on again, and I kept driving, until this past weekend, I got the flashing check engine, I brought it to the mechanic and he determined that it's the throttle issue and would need to be replaced which will cost me additional $1000. He suggests that I get a replacement. I'm not in financial position to do. Am I being stubborn about Volvo and not wanting to get rid of it and all the reputation it has. Any suggestions?
