Sealt belt warning light Topic is solved

I've had a XC90 V8 since February-05 and so far I'm very happy with the vehicle except for one complaint. The seat belt warning light stays on for 4-6 seconds and then switches off regardless of whether I've engaged the seat belt or not. I also get no chiming sound which it what the manual says you should hear if you forget to belt up.

The dealer told me that they couldn't find a fault- they talked to some hot-shot tech guy from Volvo North America and he said this that this is way the V8s are designed.

I can't believe this is true especially coming from the company that invented the seat belt. I would be interested to hear if anyone else is having this issue.
