can someone tell me how to replace a cam sensor, and where it is?

Cam sensor is on the driver's side of the exhaust cam. I don't remember what's holding it in, but it's a Volvo, so I'd imagine that it's a torx screw.

OK, next question where is the exhaust cam? I am just starting to work under the hood, I do not know alot but I am learning.

The camshafts are atop the engine under cast aluminum covers. The exhaust cam is under the rear cover (the side the exhaust manifold is on).

Changing the sensor is very simple, but a Chilton's or Haynes manual would be a great aide to familiarize yourself with your engine before undertaking this repair.

I just replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I'll try to locate a cam sensor online, that will be next weekends project. Had a hard time working around the turbo piping but i got it done. Runs great once its started. Trouble is have to push on gas pedal when starting. Read a post where somone said it was a cam sensor, might as well try that. Guessing still cheaper than going to dealer.
