trunk lock for s60 confusing

Post by sarah »

Has anyone had problems getting the trunk to open using the remote fob? I'm not sure if I'm using a wrong key? The key doesn't seem to work manually either and the small icon button on the dashboard won't turn off either. Again, is this a key issue?

I has the same problem on my s60. The fuse in the trunk was blown due to a short in the cable running up to the solenoid. I recabled it and it worked fine. Did you know that you can also open the trunk without the remote? It's not in the manual but there is a button right above the license plate, once you unlock the doors and pull up on that button it opens the trunk.

dunno if your missing the manual...but you also have to push the boot release button twice for it to open.

The manual Key override should definitly work...as this is the only way into the car if you say lose the remote. If it doesn't...then it's possible the ignition lock has been changed at somepoint.

You say the small icon won't go off? you mean the message/warning light?

As previous said just try the handle/switch under the boot lid, this is an electrical release..and if nothing happens this would indicate an electrical problem.

The button on the dash locks the trunk so it cannot be opened outside.
The light must be off before opening. The keyfob button must be pressed twice rapidly.
