Remote Programing ~ ~ Help

Post by S70 Guy »

Help. Need to program remote I got of Ebay. I had some instructions I got of a message board, Turn the Key on and off 5 times, on the fifth time leave in the on position and push a button on the remote. Did not work, switched the battery out for the one in the remote that does work and that one still works so I know it is not the battery. Is there "timing involved or did I miss something in the sequence of events? Help, what am doing wrong???

I don't know. 850s I know for sure, but according to this forum, historically there's no evidence (or so little I can't find it) that 70s can be programmed.

I'd call a Volvo dealer and ask them. Ask for the parts guy first.

'98 S70's, like mine are a dealer only programming. Take both or all three of your remotes in at the same time. They have to be "re" programmed in sequence. If you don't, then the new programming will "erase" the one you left at home. My dealer only charged me $25 for this service...of course I DIDN't tell him I got it on eBay. He never asked, and I didn't tell. I assume I would have paid more if he knew. Good luck

Thanks,
I took them to the dealer, programed all three, cost me 73 bucks.Still cheaper than purchasing from dealer.
