It's that time again - AC Questions - 1991 740

Post by SkyVolvo »

I'm looking at recharging my '91 740's AC, which worked surprisingly well up until about last summer. DeRail, I was wondering if you used and had any luck with that kit you linked to: http://www.es-refrigerants.com/products ... etails.asp

Also, does that kit have the proper fittings for an R12 system, or would I need to get an additional piece somewhere? If it has what I need, I'll probably just go ahead and try it out myself.

Make sure you can get R12 before you dive into this project. Since it has been banned in new cars, its price has skyrocketed and only licensed HVAC people can get it.

The replacement refrigerant requires AC component replacement so the job gets bigger.
