Hello All:
More possible ac problems with my 2004 Volvo V70 base model. Replaced the compressor in June and the ac has cooled well but there have been a few issues. One came up soon after the new compressor was put in was that on occasion the speed of the air-conditioning would increase on its own and then decrease back to the requested speed within seconds. I do not have an auto climate control car - this is a base manual control a/c. This does not happen often but on occasion. Then recently I noticed that the drivers side vents would stop blowing cold air and blow no air it feels like. This readjusts on its own and then blows cold again. It stops blowing for only a few seconds and then starts blowing again. The passenger side seems to continuously blow cold air. I am completely confused. Could the system need recharging? I have been keeping the a/c in the recirculate mode all summer as it has been so hot. It does seem warmer when I let the fresh air mode on too. I had the Freon level checked in June before I replaced the compressor and they said it was okay. I will recheck just to be safe but any suggestions? Thanks once again. I have bled money into this car all summer - $1350.00 so far and was hoping for a break in September. Doesn't look like I am going to get one:(

Sound like a blend door problem rather than the AC system itself as you have cold air on the passenger side all the time. Not sure if it is vacuum or electrically operated as I have never played around in that area.
