2003 V40 - OBDII Compliant?

Post by SimonBrown »

My trusty V40 1.9D has developed an irritating, intermittent fault; cutting out briefly when cold and under acceleration.

To diagnose the fault I'm using and ELM 327 interface. The software reports connectivity and I can read engine RPM. I can generate a nice (but useless) graph of engine RPM..

But the fault codes are elusive.

What would be the protocol in use?

Is the 2003 1.9D OBDII compliant?

Any thoughts most welcome.

No idea on the protocol, but there should be no issues with OBDII

Yes OBD11 is correct.

To my knowledge the protocol is ISO9141
I use an Autel Maxiscan MS300 CAN OBD11on my 2002 V40.
Can't retrieve VIN Identification though as my car doesn't support mode 9 ???
