Just recently replaced my rear window wiper motor and found a decent replacement (new) on e-bay for ~ $144. This was much cheaper than some of the normal parts vendor, e.g., FPC Euro, or getting a used one. I admit I was a bit skeptical when I purchased this, but it's turned out well.
Here is the link to the e-bay auction where I purchased the motor:

The seller is "PartsContainer" and the store can be found at:

Here is what came in the mail - definitely not OEM/Volvo;
a close up of the box:
And finally here it is installed in the rear tailgate.
So far no issues and the motor is working well. As a side note I tried to repair my original motor even going as far as taking it apart to check for corrosion, etc. But it was a pristine condition on the inside.

I found the rear wiper motor to be expensive so I took it apart. There is a plastic cog gear that gets the teeth worn off probably from the wiper getting stuck on ice or something. The wheel can be purchased cheap and so I am trying that forst (I just ordered on ebay). The reason I think this might fix it is this... With the unit disassembled and the wheel removed i plugged it in and turned on the rear wiper and the motor was turning - you can see it. I will update when I replace the wheel.

Had a rear wiper issue on the '05 in Winter 2017 (gears were just worn out), replaced with a Magnetti Marelli that lasted a whole month before it stopped working mid wipe. Unit was returned for refund, purchased a used rear wiper from Erie and it's been fine since. Not a fan of Magnetti Marelli for this particular part.
Some folks are successful in getting some extra life with the rework, I was not.
