2007 s80 awd v8 irratic gear change 1st and 2nd

hi there s80 awd v8 has hard change between 1st and 2nd gears only there is no fault code stored on the gearbox or the engine and when stopping in traffic high idling is being experienced please advise possible causes and repaired needed thanks

Possibly a mas airflow sensor going south or a vacuum leak. You can have either of these bad enough to cause weird running, but not throw a code.
Try driving with the MAF disconnected for a short period of time and see if the symptoms change.
