Hi, my folks were thinking about getting a 2000 V40 1.9 turbo. I test drove the car myself and it seems like a very good car for what my parents need. But I do have some questions, when the car is sitting in drive, let's say at a stop light, it seems to have a bit of a rumble kind of feeling, once you get ~1-200 rpms higher it goes away. Is that just something that is characteristic of the Inline 4 engines? Also I would like to know what kind of service needs to be done, like a 60k tune-up what needs to be replaced/checked/etc. that kind of thing. How reliable are they, can they go for +200K miles on same motor/transmission? The car currently has about 60k miles on it, is there anything that might be a cause for concern or that should be checked out. Is there anything else that would be good/helpful to know about these cars? I've done a carfax and it came back clean. It also had all work oil changes/servicing/etc. done at the dealership. Thanks for any info you can give.

You can find the link to that any time in my Volvo Repair Database menu near the top of the pages in this forum. Select "Volvo Car Maintainence Schedules".
Bet you the rumbling is the motor mounts. Search this forum (S40/V40) for some recent posts on it.
