1991 240 Wagon, 5-sp manual, for parts (Boston) - [SOLD]

1991 Volvo 240 Wagon starts, runs, drives just fine. However, my mechanic told me the frame rust was getting bad enough that it likely only had another year or two of driving in it. So, I can't (ethically) sell it as a "driving" car, but it can easily be driven to where you are (pref. within 20 miles of Somerville.) I plan on taking my license plates with me when I leave it, so you'll need an off-street place to store it. Title is clean; I own it outright.

I've been putting all-new parts in it for the 6+ years I've owned it (including 4 new tires in October that now have <200 miles on them). So a smart parts-person should easily be able to make their money back selling them. I've also had regular oil changes, so engine, transmission are both in good shape, even with nearly 250k miles on them. (My mechanic says he knows someone with a similar mid-90s 240 engine with 400k miles on it.) I'm only selling now because a friend is giving me a good deal on a replacement car.

I have a 16-page printout from my mechanic with full documentation of all the new parts put in it and associated dates. Significant parts added in that span:
10/1/13 - Passed emissions inspection
10/1/13 - 4 New "Matrix Touring" all-weather tires, mounted, balanced, aligned (less than 200 mi on them now)
4/1/13 - New exhaust front pipe
11/26/12 - New left-rear light lens
11/12/12 - New clutch cable
12/29/10 - New left headlight & directional assembly
10/20/10 - Replaced rear bearing with used part
8/9/10 - New rear rotors, pads, calipers
10/22/09 - New catalytic convertor, muffler, tail pipe, axle pipe
7/1/09 - New ignition cap, spark plugs, wires
7/1/09 - New radiator, incl hose & clamps
8/4/08 - New water pump
8/4/08 - New timing belt
8/4/08 - New clutch, clutch fork, pilot bearing
10/23/07 - New emergency brake, shoes, hardware
3/16/07 - New gear-shifter kit
9/5/06 - New front rotors, pads, calipers

Other features/extras:
* Solid-welded rear ball trailer hitch
* Some extra fuses I don't need
* Extra brand-new right-rear light lens cover (ordered a pair Nov 2012, didn't need both)
* Full-sized spare tire in excellent condition
* Jack and tire iron

Known Problems:
* General all-around frame rust
* A/C coolant was spent long ago (I've never used the A/C)
* No cruise control ever installed
* Power door locks are disabled (one seized up, I chose to disable rather than repair)
* Hood hinges/spring are broken (hood stays on and lifts OK, but needs a prop to hold it up, and takes a little finesse to close.)
* Blower motor works, but blower motor resistor is broken (so it only blows at top setting).
* Gas tank fuel sensor doesn't work (have replaced odo console and checked wiring, so the problem is in the tank.)
* Driver seat leather cracked and worn, but other seats & interior vinyl is generally OK.
* Cassette player doesn't work
* Driver-side mirror is a mediocre replacement mirror
* Small crack in front windshield
* Rear defog only semi-functional
* Some of the plastic trim missing
* Minor corrosion on fuse box
* Radio antenna & mount missing
