1997 V40 new CV Joint doesn't fit hub

Hello

I've purchased an after market new CV Joint drive shaft with both inner and outer cv's. The inner fits ok into the transmission, but I cannot seem to be able to fit the outer spline on the outer cv joint into and through the hub. It seems that the spline is 1 mm bigger in diameter.

Is it possible that my car is an early 1997 model and there was a change to the splined shaft size?

I know that there is a difference between the turbo and non turbo's. Turbo hubs have a 21 spline hub vs. non turbo 20 spline
