Hood won't open.

Hello everyone,

I have a volvo 1988 740, and the hood cable is snapped and I can not get my hood open. Is there another way I can get my hood opened?

Any help on my problem would be wonderful.

You have a problem! I went out to my car and made some investigations. As you probably know, you have two locking mechanisms for the hood placed above the headlights. If you read Hayne's repair manual, it says that you have to destroy the headlights! Start with the left one, and hopefully the wire is OK over to the right locking mechanism. I do not see any other solution either.

try hitting the hood from the driver side corner wit your fist while you try to pull the lever that should work!
