1999 volvo s80 battery dead, cant unlock trunk,no master ke
Please help - the battery is dead/needs replacment. mechanic cant unlock trunk (i am at work) and we lost the master key (only have the valet I guess). Is there anything that can be done? Thanks in advance

Of course. ( but the valet key should have at least opened the doors so he could add power to the cig lighter etc enough to allow the remote to open the trunk)
Slide under the car ( jack up safely if needed) and run jumper wires to the positive on the starter and a ground to the body. Then use your remote.

Thank you, the car was jumped. the cigarette light hasnt worked in years and of course we cant locate the remote. Is there a latch/chord that is accessible from inside the trunk. my mechanic said there is on newer models but couldnt find it when he put the center console down and looked with a flashlight. thanks again.

yes but that wasnt working as of 90 minutes ago anyway when I last spoke to mechanic. unless there that latch inside trunk i will have to scour my house for master key. appreciate the help

Raise hood and put battery charger (+) on the jump terminal and ground on engine somewhere.
Then use remote or button door after charger has been on for a few.

Ditto. Open the hood, jump to positive wire cluster near LH strut tower, ground to engine block or what have you. Charge. Use lock button to unlock all doors. Try trunk.

Another way is if you connect to Vida/Dice while adding another battery up front at the jump point you can activate the boot release through Activations.
