Looks like all the ones currently on ebay have vida running on win 7 pro - about 4 months ago when I was getting hold of my "shed computer" for this purpose I installed XP pro as thats what it was running - now I need to update that as well

Dice vs. Super Dice Pro?
Hi all, just got onto ebay to have a look at getting a dice/vida setup for myself. I notice that theres also listed a Super Volvo Dice Pro unit as well. Anyone know if theres any difference to the old dice units on ebay?

Could always roll back to an older version of VIDA but not sure if that will run dice ok?

I ended up buying the "super DiCE." I got a leather case that covered the LED's (until I cut peep holes). It didn't have a separate 12V supply, but jumpers to the correct OBD2 pins powered it up while flashing the firmware.
I think there is some supplemental programming capacity in the "super," but the point is moot since Volvo won't allow clones to download software.
I use the VMware image on a Win8.1 netbook with no problems, except that I copied the DiCE folder to the host computer. The powered up DiCE showed up as itself in the host. I then did the diagnostic and firmware match / update from the host rather than the virtual machine. I have heard of DiCE units getting bricked if they are flashed through the virtual machine.
