Climate control not so automatic

I have to say that the auto climate control in my 01 S80 T6 doesn't live up to what I enjoyed in my 94 850 Turbo. The S80 unit is less smooth and subtle. I get annoyed with the unpredictable cold blasts of air (even with A/C off), and find myself having to fiddle with the temp control much of the time. My 850's unit was so pleasantly invisible in its functioning.

Has anyone else noticed this?
