04 XC90 Clunking noise in the back

Hello everyone,

My XC90 makes some clunking noise in the back when going over bumps. What should i be looking at to diagnose the problem?

I have seen the rear shock having internal noise. Bad news is....They are very expensive. seemed to me the passenger side is more likely to be the culprit.

You are right, first the passenger side started making that noise but now both do it.
I just checked FCP and they have two different brands one is 112 (Sachs) and Bilstein for 92 bucks.
The description says not for self leveling, how do I check if it is self leveling or not? Any idea?
