The service light comes on in my car and stays on for about 5 mins then turns off, I have 97,000 miles on my 2000 s80, what does this light mean? Also, I have read in the manuals, to change the oil very 5-7,000 miles, is that right? I know most places say to change the oil every 3,000 miles, what kind of oil would anyone recommend and who would you have replace the oil, I know not all quick lube places have the tools or filters to complete the oil changes for 2000 s80's.

Volvo says 7500 miles, I do mine every 5000 miles. Most quick lube places will probably not have the filter as it is a plastic cartridge and a replacable element inside so you should probably stop by an auto parts store first and get one. Also I'm pretty sure Volvo specifies or at least recomends using synthetic oil like Mobil 1. Most quick lube places use the cheapest conventional oil.
