How hard are replacing rear bearings
In recent weeks my car has been making a strange noise from the rear wheel area,it only happens at 30/ 40 mph,it sounds as thou there is a piece of cardboard is attached to the tyre,I have a feeling it's the tyre rather than a wheel bearing issue, the roads here in the uk are very bad, loads of craters and pot holes, anyway if it was the bearing surely it would be making more of a rumbling noise and would be apparent all the time,I'm going to change the rear tyres see if that is the problem,if it turns out to be a wheel bearing, how hard is it to do and do I need a special tool to push the said bearing into its new home,by glancing at it the rear ones are easier than the front, which is a blessing.

The fronts you need a press to be able to change. Depends on what fault the wheel bearing has as to what noise it would make, but if you remove all the tyre you should be able to narrow it down - if everything feels tight with no excessive movement and no rough spots in the rotation of the hub then it should be right. I havent specifically looked at the rear wheel bearing setup so cant offer any advice, but for some reason I have the thought in my head that its a cartridge unit that can be swapped out with a new one easily enough?
