YEA!!!!

Just rolled over my Odometer to $250,000. We bought the car in 2005 with 137K. Only real problem between there was the Vacuum motors under the dash, A new transmission (A sensor degraded and was eaten up by the transmission), and the Radiator had to be replaced. Not too shabby in 9 years! The car is easy to work on! I'll keep this car as long as I can.

Congrats, if they are maintained, most will perform as yours. Good job.

How is your oil usage? I ask because, I bought my '94 in '95 and from that day on it hovered around 1300 miles per quart. It gradually worsened until I swapped the engine out at 234,000 miles, by then it was a quart every tank fill. I guess, I got a bad engine, I think it was the wrong size pistons for the bores in the end, it was doomed from the beginning.

Good job.

danr960 - Well, I use about a quart per 3K. I have to be sure and change the oil on time, or at least put in a quart... My understanding is that the valve seals get hard and leak oil over time. I was told to only have the head rebuilt when I feel it is time. New engine not necessary.

98S90 - Sorry no luck there. I was pulling the cuyamaca mtns. with a full load out of Yuma to SD in the summer. I could tell it was working hard. I think the sensor failed going over. the following weekend I was screwed. The ECU put me into limp mode and there was nothing else to do. I do believe these transmissions run hot. I had to replace the radiator, and I put in a metal one to keep from the plastic breakage that left me stranded. I don't think the metal one had the cooling capacity the OEM had for the transmission. After I made the switch, I had funny shifing issues, where it seemed like the shift would bounce between gears, and shift down too soon. I put in an auxillary transmission oil cooler and the problem went away.
