Hey guys, any chance of some photos or ideas for a subtle boost + EGT gauge mount solution in a V/S/C70?
Its a TDI so need an EGT gauge too, though the combined boost & EGT gauges are about £150/$200 which is a bit out of budget!
I've seen a neat one on a V70 where the boost gauge (IPD?) was mounted in the mirror blank. Or does anyone know of a low profile/ horizontal line gauge (like old american speedo's) that would just surface mount on the lower edge of the instrument cluster?
Looking for it to be backlit, but dim-mable with the rest of the dash via the rheostat.
Cheers!

PO of mine had a vent-mounted boost gauge pod, like so:

this lets you run wiring, vacuum lines, &c through the dash so you don't have to drill any holes. hidden from view and you don't have to add any new blisters to your dashboard layout.
i kind of wish i'd bought the gauge and pod with the car because it was a neat little solution, but i didn't think i wanted a boost gauge at the time. now i kinda do, so i picked up a vent cover from the yard last time i was out parts-hunting, and i'll try to make it into a vent pod if i ever buy a gauge.
there are two plugged holes in my A-pillar cover, but i don't like the look of gauges up there - seems like it would be a police and thief magnet.

Thats pretty much my issue, I don't want people behind at night to be able to see it. A pillar mount gauges also make it look like something from a street racing film lol, which it ain't, its a 15 year old diesel lol.
Vent mount might be an idea, but it gets pretty cold round here, so quite like warm air on my hands.
I think my best bet is to try the door mirror mount for the boost, and egt I might be able to get a low profile job, or use an industrial LCD gauge mounted in place of two accessory switches. *I'll keep you posted on how it goes!
Unless anyone else has seen a neater way of doing it?

if you have a single-DIN stereo, perhaps in the little pocket under the head unit. bend some sheet metal, drill holes in the pocket for vacuum lines and wires, hole saw for the gauges, screw it all down. the gauges probably won't fit in the pocket, but they might not protrude far out, either.
the door mount is a neat concept. easy to access, clean. lines are hidden and protected. P80 cars have a really wide door panel; there might be some clever way to integrate gauges Jaguar XJ220-style:

gosh, listen to me. i drive this volvo, but i think i'm just a ricer at heart.
