1999 S70/V70 Seat Swap?

Post by larrico »

Have a 99 S70 GLT with a manual passenger seat and a V70 with a power passenger seat, would these two seats be interchangeable? If they are it's essentially 4 bolts and the pigtail?

If they are both '99 models. You need to check to see if they both have the same seat air bag system. I have seen a '99 car with manual air bag.

Also, there is a chance that the manual car is NOT wired for a powered seat. Check that before you swap it if it matters.

Disconnect the battery so you don't trigger the SRS code.

Easiest way to do this is look for a thick orange wire that is the SRS cable. Make sure if yours has one that the replacement does too or else you will set off the SRS light.

The manual seat does have the thick orange wire, is there anyway to tell if the car is prewired?

Check the plugs under the seat, you should have the following:

two pin green and purple connector which is for electrically fired SIPS bags.
two pin grey connector which is for the seat belt fastened signal.
six (or possibly five) pin plug which is seat heaters
four pin plug which is for powered seat motors
