1994 Volvo 850 Blower Motor

For the last month I have only been able to use my fan on high because the resistor went out. I have just not been in the mood to fix it since here in Chicago we have had a brutal winter and I don't have heat in my garage. As you know, without the resistor working properly the fan only works on the highest setting. Yesterday, the fan went out completely. I checked the fuse box and it wasn't blown. Is there another resistor for the high setting? I don't think it's the motor, I've had blowers go out on me before and typically it makes some noise before it conks out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate.

No other resistor.

It's like a 15 minute job that can be done with the car warmed up and you can stay in the car. LOL

rspi, Why doesn't it work on the highest setting? Is there a breaker or is the fan bad?

It's probably the fan. A sticking fan (or clogged cabin filter) is what usually kills the resistor in the first place.

Is your car MCC or ECC?
