1999 V70 Drivers air bag question
I recently needed to pull the steering wheel to clean and lube the column plus change the Key hall sensor. Everything went back together perfectly. However, the SRS light is on and my OBDII analyzer says the Drivers air bag is faulty and I can not reset it. Basically it says the air bag is missing. What the hell? NOTE: I needed to pull the steering wheel twice because I forgot something. The battery was NOT disconnected the second time I did this. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to reset the SRS system?

You need the Vida software running on a PC connected to the car via a DiCE interface to reset the SRS fault, did you disturb the position of the contact reel that connect to the airbag, if this has broken through incorrect position the car won't be connected electrically to the airbag which could be the cause of the fault - Mike

Are you sure I need a tool to reset the SRS light? I have disconnected airbags in seats before. The SRS light comes on and you cannot reset it...however the SRS light goes away once the airbag connection is made again. Do you agree?
I do agree with the possibility that the slip ring is not contacting. I need to look at hat or possibly get a new slip ring.
