97 volvo 850 wagon windshield washer fluid won't stop r

We fixed the hole in our washer fluid hose and it sprayed fine a few times then when letting go of the switch the fluid wouldn't stop trickling continuously out of the fixtures until we pulled the fuse. We have no headlight wipers and ran the tube direct to the windshield tubes. Any ideas?
