Hi to all just come in from attempting to change the rear shocks and springs on my 98 V70 did the 1 side no problem but on removal of the spring i could see that the circular top mount had some corrosion which on investigating further turned into a hole.
My question is has anybody else come across this problem and if they have how did they overcome it?.
Also the domed nut holding the btm of the shock has corroded and i get a spanner to fit anybody any ideas i dont want to hammer one on in case i destroy the stud has anybody had to get around this before.
And finally if i do snap the stud could it be drilled out and substituted with a bolt of the same size.
All suggestions greatly appreciated.
