What is the metal tubing running under the spark plug cover

What is the metal tubing running under the spark plug cover for on a '94 850 Turbo?

My question is:where it exits under the spark plug cover next to the distributer it changes from metal to a rubberish tubing and heads about 8" over the distributor towards the front to a "T". I noticed that this tubing on my car had a small hole in it and also when the car is on the tubing collapses. It looks like if you were sucking on a straw and holding one end of the straw.. So I think its obviously not working. If any body knows about this tubing let me know.

I posted on your thread over on the brickboard. The hoses do get soft after several years and don't hold up. The hole is really secondary to the collapsing, but both are not good. You can get the hoses from www.fcpgroton.com Many on volvospeed are replacing such hoses with silicone ones which last longer. Good luck.
