93 850 Odometer gear STILL not working

93 850 Odometer gear STILL not working

Hey guys
Super short post
My dad wants to sell my brothers old 93 850 and the odometer is busted
So i told him I'd get it in sell-able condition
I just replaced the tiny odometer gear (something I've done on 2 other cars) and put everything back together only to find that the odometer still isn't working....... :evil:
Thoughts?

The electronic pins to the odometer motor can also be fragile or bent.
I have done the fix on both my '93 and '96.
I know it isn't fun to pull the dash pad, but it is to see the numbers move again.

The pins out of the main board to the motor have been a problem for me as well but on a '93 there was normally a pigtail from the motor that plugs into a small socket on the main board. Other than forgetting to plug the pigtail in that connection is not nearly as finicky.

well ive got a few hours this morning... I guess I'll pull it all apart again and take a look

I'll probably do it in record time

The broken tooth from the previous gear was stuck in the new gear.... ARE YOU SERIOUS
Needless to say its fixed now.
