1995 854T Flywire is down to 3-4 strands of wire

I'd swear I read a post once that explained how to replace or repair the flywire on the OBDI black box.
It looks like my flywire will break off soon and I wanted to be a little proactive and fix it before it's gone.
It's breaking right at the box, so it's not quite as easy as just splicing a new piece in. I will have to open the box to make any kind of repair - which is fine I think.

Searching flywire, OBDI repair etc. isn't getting me anywhere. Maybe I'm calling it the wrong term.

You can fix it by taking the A/B box apart and the re-soldering the wire back to the circuit board under the button. Just snip off the wire as close to the break as you can and then unsolder the old wire. The box is held together with plastic tabs that you can pry but you need to take it apart slowly or you will lose the spring under the button.

Excellent. It sounds like a pretty easy repair.
The wire seems short already so I doubt I can just reuse it, but we'll see.
Thanks.
