1995 960 horn wiring short

Post by jdhwagon »

Horn wiring was tied back. Horn non operative. Connected one horn, operates with out pushing button.
Removed horn button-air bag unit, and switches,Horn still stuck on. Switched relays no help. I do not
know where to go next to find where the fault is. Driving with fuse out and no horn. Thank you for any suggestions. J.D.

This wiring short in the horn circuit is found. I removed the steering wheel and followed the brown-
black horn wire under the W/S wiper control. I removed the wiper control mounting and found the pinched horn wire. I routed this horn wire around the base of the wiper control, and insulated it with shrink tubing. I reinstalled steering wheel, brush assembly, and air bag. Then I connected horn wiring to the horns. Now the horn operates like it should. :D :D
