Car manufacturers stockpile cars for the next model year every year. Production year change over is months ahead of on-sale date. Then you add export to overseas markets and the fact that ships take hundreds and thousands of cars at once. All this adds up to a lot of brand new vehicles sitting in hold certain times of the year.

Of course it's for real. It's the main reason they can charge an arm and a leg for a 2014 that sat in the storage units since 2010

I work at a Toyota assembly plant and this is going on here too. Not quite to the extent seen in the photos but for a company that touts about just in time delivery and no storing of parts and/or vehicles, there are rows upon rows of cars sitting around the plant in newly created fenced off areas. Funny thing - overtime to build them is rampant and mandatory. The local GM plant is apparently renting parking lots around the closest cities for the same purpose from the looks of things. Makes one think that somethings up...

There is a Saudi Arabian looking at purchasing the U.S. at a price that will be enough to pay our National debt with enough left over for every single American citizen to receive one free meal at Applebee's (gratuity not included, restrictions apply). The Government wants the United States to present something of a higher-class economy in case the buyer gets bored and decides to Google "U.S. Satellite images" before the deal is sealed. Hence, auto manufacturers are being compensated to put brand new cars in American parking lots to make things look good. Also, suburban homeowners across the Country have been issued inflatable models of self-propelled or riding lawn mowers to place in their backyards in a spot where they will be visible from Google Maps satellites. And these are models of quality mowers, not any of that Briggs and Stratton cr*p.

That seems far fetched but in fact I can find back up on the internet, so it must be true.

Ive poked at a couple of lawn mowers around my neighborhood and so far only one has been an inflatable so I guess it hasn't been fully deployed yet.

On any given day, there are cars poised for transport. I have been in, and around these areas for decades.

On the opportune day, one might get a good photo of cars waiting to be somewhere else.

It is not stockpiling, or subterfuge. It is usually needed in terms of logistics and timing.

Lighten up conspiracy mongers.

BTW, I would really like a new Briggs and Stratton mower. Any dealers around Detroit?
