Hi Guys!
My driver's door will not open with the inner or outer handles. After removing the inner panel, tripping the inner (in relation to the door panel) brass colored linkage as shown on the Youtube vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EA3YSARDxcI did not release the latch. A linkage with a spring and large (1/2"?) cylindrical stop or counterweight on it moves as this is done, pressing/gently prying directly on that linkage did not work either.
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/EA3YSARDxcI?featu ... detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
In the video at 2:26 you can see the inner and outer linkages, as well as the spring and pivot at the top of the linkage with the counterweight, it is a gold colored plate set perpendicular to the door axis. The counterweight or stop is not itself visible and attached further down the plate.
The cable is still connected to the inner handle. The electric lock still moves the white plastic linkages.
It feels like the either the actual lock part that interferes with the door latch disengaging is disconnected from the rest of the mechanism in locked position,
or
the lock disengages, but the last bit of linkage to open the latch is broken,
or
some debris is jamming the latch "bolt" and it cannot pivot down.
Those are what *feel* like the possibilities, but I do not have a diagram for the latch mechanism. Please post a link if you have one.
Any ideas? It seems everything online starts with "With the door open, remove the two torx screws...."
I need that "door open" part.
Thanks,
Bob

I have a spare latch handy. I'll try to post a video with the latch details in a few hours so you can see what it looks like. Maybe that will help.

Perhaps the mechanism is bad? Not sure if this will help.bobdog wrote:
Thanks, we tried the second video's method yesterday. No go. Still looking for a diagram.
