Does this model actually have a vacuum booster pump for the brakes for when the engine is cold and there is no vacuum from the inlet manifold?
I've followed the tube from the manifold all the way to the brake booster and there is no vacuum pump or no T junction leading off to a pump.
It seems that these Volvo's with variable valve timing need them but I just can't find it. I took out the air filter housing as I've read that some models have it under there but nothing - just bare, Volvo structural metal!

I think they started the next model year in a North America, at least. There is a thread on this recently I will try to find/link.

There is plenty of vacuum in a cold engine. Once the throttle plate is closed, there is almost 30 inches of vacuum power available. Slow leak in check valve on booster perhaps?
