2002 XC70 rear cam seals; 2 or 1

Post by transporter »

I just replaced the front seal & cam seals in an '02 XC70 (with help from a vvt re-install post).
The intake cam did not have a rear seal, but I thought it prudent to put one in.
Is it?
Or should I remove it & rely on the end cap to seal?
Thanks.

2. as of 2002 the 5 cyl turbo engines all had cvvt on both cams and have 2 rear seals. Earlier had 1 seal and one cover plug.

This motor only has vvt on the exhaust cam. Intake cam had no seal and the cover plug.
