i've been working for a year to get my daughters 850 safe and reliable. She came to get it today and, of course, right before she gets here it does the following: 1. won't shift out of park unless you push the shiftlock override button. 2. speedometer won't work. 3. turn signals won't work.
from looking around the site, it appears that i need to replace the electrical part of the ignition switch and it will all go away. is this right?
can she drive it OK for a week until I get the part, using the shiftlock override if necessary?
thank you! rick

The electrical portion of the ignition switch is the "Usual Suspect" but you can try to verify that by jiggling the key while it is acting up. If things change when the key is jiggled it verifies the diagnosis.
