1986 245 GL Will not start
My 245 GL will not start. It hasn't been driven in a few months but I do go out and start it periodically. A couple of weeks ago, after some heavy rain, I was walking by and heard a humming/buzzing noise coming from the rear end. The car was off so I popped the hood and disconnected the negative cable and the noise went away. This morning I reconnected the cable, the noise was gone and it started with no problem, but I did notice that the fuel gauge was reading full (I know there's not a full tank in there). About an hour later I went back to start it up and it did not turn over. I noticed that the fuel pump did not sound like it came on when I put the ignition on. I'm not a mechanic but it sounds like it may be the fuel pump. Is there a way to be sure that's the problem and not a relay or something like that? Thanks very much!

Thank you very much! By jumping out the relay it turns out it was in fact, the relay. A lot easier and less costly for sure. Thanks again!!
