99 volvo xc70 Engine Compatibility

So I have a totaled xc70 99, I have the engine which has 100k miles. Would this engine fit IF any, any newer xc 70 models such as 01-whenever? I ask just because around are deals on later xc 70's with either bad engines or really high miles. Thanks in advance.

The 1999 2000 and some fraction of the 2001 use that engine, I believe.

I think the major issues are variable valve timing

pre 1999 - none
1999-2001 exhaust only VVT
2001- on exhaust and instake VVT

I read somewhere that someone had out a v70r motor into a 98 and just left the cvvt unplugged i believe. I cannot find the post tho.
