2001 s40 t clogged pcv

Post by porwanabe »

question: all the hoses etc have been replaced on the pcv system. My concern is the bottom port opening for the oil trap may be clogged. Is there a way to check to see if it is clogged beyond where i can get something in to remove dirt and etc. When I try to clean it any cleaning solution comes right back out. Air does the same when using compressed air. If I do the same of the other port ( where the side hose goes in) I don't get same reaction. Is there something I can do to clean further in with > this is regarding the engine block and not oil trap.
thanks

Compression is fine ( actually really good ). Leak down was fine ( no issues). Coolant system was pressurized overnight to check for leaks and zero to be had. So head is good and rings are good. Turbo however is bad. New OEM turbo being installed. Unusual for mileage on car but suspect is prior owners lack of maintenance.
Going to us additive to motor to clean out ( 1000 mile oil changes for next 5000 miles).
onward we go.

Hey Porwanabe,

I replaced my Oil Trap box, the big long expensive combo hose that wraps around the engine, and the two hoses attached to the box - one to the block and the other to the top of the engine. I also checked the PTC Valve on the 4" fresh air hose by the firewall - clear, works fine.

However, I am still getting Positive Crank Case Pressure. Is it possible you could let me know
the list of "all the hoses etc have been replaced on the pcv system." ??

Your help / others - would be GREATLY appreciated.

Many thanks,

Tom
